How billing works

Card payments via Stripe
On the web, plans are billed monthly by card through Stripe. Manage everything — upgrade, downgrade, cancel, update your card — from the self-serve customer portal.
Google Play on Android
In the Android app, subscriptions are billed through Google Play and managed from your Play Store account. Both routes land on the same plan on your VehicleHub account.
Monthly AI allowance, no rollover
Each plan includes a monthly AI allowance that resets every calendar month. Unused allowance doesn’t roll over — that’s what keeps prices this low.
Credits never expire
Pay-as-you-go credit packs stay on your account until you use them, whatever plan you’re on. They’re there when a busy month outruns your allowance.
Failed scans are never charged
If the AI can’t read a document, the analysis doesn’t count — not against your allowance and not against your credits. You only ever pay for scans that work.
Downgrades never delete vehicles
Cancel or drop a tier and your vehicles and records stay exactly as they are. You just can’t add new vehicles beyond the free plan’s limit of one while you’re over it.

GOV.UK's free service is genuinely useful for MOT and tax — we recommend it too. It just can't cover insurance, servicing, costs or mileage, and it doesn't keep your records.

Is the free plan really free?
Yes. One vehicle with every core feature — reminders, lookups, records, build logs and reports. Free accounts also get 5 AI fuel-receipt scans a month.
What happens if I cancel or downgrade?
Your vehicles and records stay right where they are — downgrading never deletes anything. You just drop back to the free plan limit of one vehicle, so you cannot add new ones while you are over it.
How do I pay?
On the web, by card through Stripe. In the Android app, through Google Play billing. Either way it is month-to-month with no lock-in — cancel anytime.
Can I manage my subscription?
Anytime, from Settings → Subscription. Upgrade, downgrade, cancel or update your card via the Stripe customer portal. Purchases made in the Android app are managed through Google Play instead.
